Trauma-Informed Therapy
Hi, I’m H. Tammy Cha, MSW, LCSW, a licensed psychotherapist and proud two-time graduate of the University of Central Florida (Go Knights!). I’m currently a Doctoral candidate at Tulane University (Roll Wave!) and bring over a decade of experience in the mental health field. I’m passionate about helping people feel loved, seen, accepted, and empowered as they navigate life’s challenges with resilience and clarity.
I began my career as a Clinical Social Work Fellow at MedStar Washington Hospital Center in Washington, D.C., supporting individuals through acute medical and mental health crises. I then joined MedStar Health Research Institute, where I helped expand access to Hepatitis C care for underserved communities. My work has been featured in peer-reviewed journals. Most recently, I served as Clinical Director at an outpatient recovery center, specializing in care for individuals recovering from alcohol and substance use disorders. Today, I focus fully on my private practice, where I continue to walk alongside clients in their healing journeys.
I offer virtual therapy for individuals in Florida, Georgia, South Carolina, and Virginia. My approach is trauma-informed, holistic, and rooted in evidence-based modalities such as Mindfulness-Based CBT, Brainspotting, and Socratic questioning. I strive to create a warm, supportive space where you can feel safe to explore, grow, and heal at your own pace.
You are not alone in this journey—I’m here to walk beside you.

Therapeutic Insights
Helping You HealTeletherapy and the Korean American Experience
Korean Americans, known for their “doer” mindset, responded: therapy became an actionable step toward healing. Teletherapy expanded access across distance, removed transportation barriers, and mitigated stigma through privacy and convenience.
Virtual care removes some of those roadblocks, making it easier to find therapists who align with their identities and values—without the added stress of long commutes or sitting in a waiting room that doesn’t feel welcoming.
The Courage to Ask for Help
How Teletherapy is Changing Mental Health Access for Asian Americans
Teletherapy has changed the game by offering greater accessibility, anonymity, and flexibility—making it a viable option for those who may have previously avoided seeking help.
The Success of Telehealth Therapy
One of the things I admire most about the people I work with is their courage. It takes an incredible amount of bravery to say, “I need help.” For some, it may feel like a small step, but for many, it’s monumental—an act of faith, vulnerability, and hope all rolled into one.
